MSB Model United Nations Report

MSB Model United Nations Report:

MSB Educational Institute, Bangalore conducted the second edition of Model United Nations on October 13 and 16, 2021.

Model United Nations is an educational simulation of the working of the United Nations Organization. An opportunity where students sensitize towards the global issues, understand international relations, formulate solutions and learn the art of diplomacy. It helps the students prepare for the interschool events at the National and International levels.

This event was organized for the High school section and the students were allotted the committees, countries and topics in advance. Three training sessions were conducted after classes, to brief the delegates on the MUN procedures. The training sessions helped them to clarify their queries.

The first session of the event was conducted virtually on October 13, Wednesday. The session was formally inaugurated by the Masool/Principal Shk Mufaddal Bhai Shakir. The Secretary-General and the directors of all 3 committees were also our ex-students and HMUN participants. After the inauguration and welcome address, the students broke into the committee rooms, where the GSL was read out and delegates participated in Moderated Caucus.

The second session was conducted on October 16, Saturday at school. The delegates continued with the Mod and Unmod caucus. In each committee room, the students discussed their topics, raised motions, made working papers, formed blocks, drafted resolutions and suggested amendments.

At this conference, the students learned about coming together to achieve the common goal in the true spirit of the United Nations.

This event emerged as a tool for developing a holistic understanding of the world around them.
